UCB Boston Research is Advancing Medical Innovation

Every day, UCB researchers come to work driven by a singular purpose – to create value for people living with severe disease. That’s because, across the world, patients depend on the important work of scientific research to find new medical innovations that will help them achieve their goals. From the “breakthrough” moments in discovery, development, and delivery, we are dedicated to finding solutions for the unmet needs of patients.

UCB Flies in to DC to Advocate for Innovation

Earlier this week, researchers from across UCB met in Washington, D.C. for the PhRMA Researcher Fly-In. While on Capitol Hill, the UCB team visited the offices of Representatives Doug Collins, Lucy McBath, and David Price, and Senators Johnny Isakson, Richard Burr, and Thom Tillis and walked their staff through the 15-year journey (on average) of how a new medicine is discovered, developed, and delivered at UCB. Each researcher, representing a different part of the drug development process, shared their personal stories about why they’re motivated each day to continue to innovate for patients.

Our Innovation Journey: From Patient to Science to Solution

With Innovation Day upcoming on February 17, we’re highlighting our approach to innovation, what we call at UCB the “patient-science-solution” model. Everything we do starts and ends with what patients value, but it is a continuous journey. Starting with the patient – we listen to their experiences, what they value, their needs, and keep them at the heart of everything we do.
